Disney Animators Hit It Out Of The Park With “Frozen”

If you enjoyed Walt Disney’s “Tangled,” put “Frozen” on the list of must-see films for the holiday season.  It’s, in the words of my mini Gene Ebert and screening companion Savannah, ‘Froze-tastic!’”

The film follows Princess Anna (voice of Kristen Bell) who teams up with rugged mountain man Kristoff (voice of Jonathan Groff) and his loyal reindeer Sven to find her sister Elsa, whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter.  Along the way, they encounter Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls and a silly snowman named Olaf.

What puts this movie in the four stars category is the animation. I am not a cartoon fan, but Disney animators are the Michael Jordon of their craft, so I was glued to the screen.  The visuals, as seen here, are stunning: Frozen.

For me, the only bad movie moment was when the little hand next to me put too much salt on the popcorn.  Otherwise, to paraphrase the snowman Olaf, the movie had me melting in my seat.

“Frozen” opens in theaters nationwide on November 27.
